"Daniel was the son of Stephen Miller and Catherine "Katy" Ingram Miller."His first wife was Susie Ingram, daughter of Jacob and Margaret "Peggy" Greene Ingram.
"His second wife was Nancy Shepherd, daughter of Presley Shepherd and Ruth Woody Shepherd.
"His third wife was Ellen "Ollie" Shepherd Owens, daughter of Presley Shepherd and Ruth Woody Shepherd.
"Ellen's husband died at Winchester, Virginia during the Civil War, leaving her with two young children. Her sister Nancy, Daniel's second wife, died and left Daniel with several young children. I believe that is why Ellen and Daniel married. Ellen was my great-great grandmother.(Barbara Spears Pipek)"
