Some of the information contained herein may be inaccurate. I apologize for any errors; however, I have attempted to verify all entered data. I have recorded most, if not all, references where information was obtained so you can review the origin to verify the source. Where other person's research have been cited as a source, please remember they could have been inaccurate as well. I have used the most common spellings of names to assist in computer searches. This may not be the currently accepted spelling of the name.

I first entered all of the families contained in the 1850 Census for Wyoming Co, WV. I then entered the 1860 Census for both Wyoming and McDowell Co., WV. (McDowell was not formed until after 1850). I matched all of the families from the two Census's. The 1870 and 1880 Census was matched with these and new families were added. The 1900 thru 1930 Census have been searched and partially recorded for those persons in the previous 50 years.  I am still working with the 1900 thru 1930 census for these two counties. I am also working on the 1850 Census of Tazewell Co, VA.

Marriage, death, birth and will records as well as publications were then used to gather the data on each family. There is much more that can be done in this area. It is by no means complete.

During the course of the project, surrounding counties' data was gathered. Some of the more cited were Mercer, Logan, Raleigh, and Boone Co.'s in WV; Tazewell, Buchanan, and Smyth Co.'s in VA and Pike, Floyd, and Lawrence Co.'s in KY.
