"William McAdoo Murphy, 85, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Belfry, Ky., passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2003, at VA
Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Fla.
Born May 27, 1918, in Tazewell, Va., to the late Johnny Murphy and Hettie Runyon Murphy, he was a former bus driver.
He served the U.S. Army in World War II and was of the Freewill Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Warthen.
Surviving are his wife, Nellie Opal Gillman Murphy of Okeechobee, Fla.; and sisters, Cody Wilson of Belfry, Ky. and
Frances Glasby of San Antonio, Tex.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2003, 11 a.m., at Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Dees
officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky. DAV rites will be formed during graveside services
by DAV Belfry Chapter #141...."
