"On Thursday, December 27, 2012, Heaven's Gate opened wide to welcome a true Hero, Frank Tyler (Buster or Buck) Thomas, 93, of Montvale. He was a World War II Veteran serving in the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater, a retired truck driver with Jones Motor Lines, and a retired School Bus Driver with the Bedford County Schools."He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ave Thomas; stepmother, Mamie Thomas; brother, O.L. Thomas; sister, Virginia Anders; and a special aunt, Ida Turner.
"The family wishes to express a special thanks to the doctors and nurses on the 10th floor of the Palliative Care Unit at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for the care given to Frank and his family.

Layman, age 88 of Rockwood, Tennessee passed away at Roane Medical Center in Harriman Tennessee on Saturday, September 24, 2016."Mrs. Layman was a Member of First Baptist Church in Rockwood, Tennessee. She was a Retired Telephone Operator with AT&T in Maryland. She was a Loving Aunt and Friend to all who ever met her.
"She is preceded in death by Parents: Riley & Laura Smith; Husband: Bud Layman; Sister: Edna Walch; Brothers: Woodrow Smith & Edward Smith.
"She is survived by: Nephews: Thomas Wayne Smith (Yoshi) of Cambridge, Maryl & Steve E. Smith of Modesto, California.
