Born on August 23, 1956, she was the daughter of Joe Willie Handy and Willa Wright Handy.
Paula loved reading books and was a gifted musician who enjoyed playing the trombone, guitar and drums. She grew up in War, WV and attended the Christ of King Catholic Church. She was a graduate at Big Creek High School and went onto earn her four-year degree at WVU Tech in Montgomery, WV.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Joe Handy and sister Deborah Handy.

"Those left to cherish her memories include her daughter, Willa Handy of Columbus, Ohio; brother Peter Handy of War, WV; sister Ann Handy of War, WV; niece Tamara Handy; nephew Joseph Handy; sister-in-law Kimberly Handy of New Jersey; and friends of the family Janice McClure of Charleston, WV and Melinese Courts of War, WV.

"Susie was a beloved wife, loving mother, and precious daughter to her parents. She enjoyed cars and chatting with her friends and family. She absolutely loved attending church and was crazy about her dog, Jack.

"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas and their son, Ski Warren Thomas.

"She is survived by her siblings, Lind Farley and Angela Farley; sisters-in-law, Pam Gibson and Debbie Farley; brother-in-law, Warren Thomas III; a niece, Shanon Blankenship; and nephews, William Farley, Travis Arhart and Josh Arhart.

"Affectionately known as Jean, she worked as a cook in the Wyoming County School System for many years and she attended the Bozoo Christian Church. She will be remembered by her family for the numerous Sunday meals she prepared for her loved ones.

"She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda and her Grandson, Levi Tilley.

"She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, David Tilley; Vickie Brown (Jeff), Cindy Tincher (Steve), Kathy Sizemore (Steve), Anita Holthausen (Bobby), David "Dave" Tilley (Missy), and Rebecca "Becky" Hagamon (John); fifteen grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren that loved her dearly.

"Graveside services will be at Pretty Ridge Cemetery at 11am on Thursday May 14th.

"In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital that Jean supported for many years.

"Patty was a former beautician, cook, and caregiver. She was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed wallpapering, upholstering, and painting where she would take nothing and make something.

"In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert L. Burks; her husband, Kennard G. Hatcher; two infant sisters, Bertha and Kelly; one infant brother, Ronnie; three sisters, Dolly O'Neal, Naomi Moran, and Rheba Jagers; two brothers, James Richard Burks and Don Moran; and two stepsons, Paul and Randy Hatcher.

"Dolly Delena O'Neal, 92, of New Richmond, WV, formerly of Dagsboro, DE, peacefully fell asleep in death on June 10, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 4, 1930 in Bud, WV a daughter of the late Robert and Laura Burks. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Paul O'Neal, and three sons, Raybourne O'Neal, Daniel O'Neal, and Billy O'Neal. Survivors include her two sons, Donald O'Neal and wife Evie and Robert O'Neal, two daughters, Beverly Lester and husband Homer, and Peggy Oren and husband David, seven siblings, Richard Burks, Bill Burks, Leona Sizemore, Connie Walker, Alma Snyder, Everett Burks, and Patty Hatcher, eleven grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren. Her final years were marked by a cheerful disposition and sense of humor that were enjoyed by all who knew her. She had a twinkle in her eye- and on her lips- constantly. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern West Virginia whose services were greatly appreciated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home".
