"Ronald Gregory Kidd, 70, of Mt. Hope, WV took his last breath in this life and his first breath in Heaven on Friday May 15, 2026 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV. He was born March 24, 1956 in Welch, WV a son of the late Jet Lee and Reba Stratton Kidd. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his greatest joy in his life, his son Jeremy Kidd, brothers Clyde Kidd and Gary Kidd, sisters Lois Kidd Adkins and Linda Kidd Tackett, and Father and Mother-in-law William and Martha (Margie) McClellan. Ron was a retired coal miner of 32+ years. He was hard-working and actually enjoyed the jobs took on to see the finished product, especially his log home, in the most precise and perfect result. Yes, particular. He enjoyed fishing and created a pond to fish or feed them each chance he could. His sports team was the WVU Mountaineers-even when they’d let him down. And how he looked forward to frog legs for dinner. He had a talent for gardening and landscaping and could grow and compete in having the biggest produce and the prettiest flowers, bushes and trees. His tractor came in handy many times. Ron was a Christian, first and foremost, loving his Lord Jesus and living his life a testimony for Him, always thankful God saved him and knowing he was spending eternity in Heaven. Those left to cherish and honor his memory include his loving wife Evelyn and daughter Tara Morgan, brothers Donny Kidd of Richmond, KY and David Kidd and wife Cynthia of Matheny, a sister Anna Kidd Haynes of Hebron, OH, sisters-in-law Shelia Perry and husband Brad of Oceana, and Karen Bean and husband Tony of Lawsonville, NC. Ron also had the tremendous pleasure of taking part in the young lives of Brody Hunt-Paugh of NC, Ian Morgan of Gilbert, Kalee Riffe of Brenton, and Ashlyn Johnson of DeKalb, IL to whom were all “his Kids”. Ron adored his family and had a host of nieces and nephews he cared for tremendously, his ex-wife but most importantly the mother of their son Jeremy, Patricia Kidd (Brent Sutphin) of Oceana, and last but not to forget Lady, his sweet and loveable dog. Funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, May 21 at Clear Fork Valley Baptist Church, Clear Fork, WV, with Erwin Gregory and Randall Brickey officiating. Friends may gather to celebrate his life here and his life now in Heaven from 6-9pm on Wednesday, May 20th at the church with Ken Adkins bringing a message. Snacks, Coffee, and Soft Drinks will be served in the fellowship hall. Committal and burial will be held at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Dinner will be served at Clear Fork Valley Baptist Church immediately following. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
