"Zephie Mae Hamm, 85, died Saturday evening at Hospice House in Ashland after a two-month illness. Zephie was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Williamson, W.Va., and had lived in Mansfield since 1954. She had retired from the Mansfield courthouse, and also had been a foster grandmother at Newhope for ten years. Zephie enjoyed spending time with her family and also traveling, sewing and fishing. Surviving are her life companion of 40 years, Russell Collins; daughter, Margie Gilbert Dulin of Hot Springs, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Dot Gilbert, also of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren including a special granddaughter, Zephie Lynn Lambert of Mansfield; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel and Ruby Meade Bateman Sr., and several brothers and sisters. There will be no calling hours or funeral services. A private burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio "
