"Charles Dale Pappas, of Filbert, West Virginia, formerly of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his daughter’s home."He was born on January 7, 1961, in El Paso, Texas, a son of the late Harry Nick Pappas and Stella Pappas.
"Charles enjoyed life in a simple and genuine way. He loved football, especially cheering on the Baltimore Ravens, and found joy in fishing and spending time outdoors. He had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. Above all, he loved his children and grandchildren deeply, and they were the center of his world.
"In addition to his parents and grandparents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Allan Nick Pappas; his sisters, Anita Pappas and Tina Pappas; his son, Charles James Pappas; and the love of his life, his wife, Barbara Kosmicki.
"Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Carrie Rakes and companion Chadrick Walker; his son, Anthony Rakes Pappas; his brother, Walter Pappas; his granddaughter, Hallie Pappas and companion Jeffrey Lusk; and his great-grandchildren, Braylen and Jaylen Lusk. He is also survived by his special friends, Bob, Brad, and Alvin, along with a host of other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
"Though his passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, his family finds comfort in knowing he is now where he longed to be—reunited with his beloved son, Charles James, and his wife, Barbara. He will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and forever loved beyond measure. This is not goodbye, but “see you soon.”
"In honoring his wishes, his body has been cremated.
