"Denvil Spears, 81, of Oceana, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015 in Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, WV following a short illness."He was born on September 1, 1934 in McCombs, KY, a son of the late Proctor Spears (Deceased) and Lois Burchett-Spears (Deceased). He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Kopperston, WV. He served four years in the United States Air Force and four years in the Reserve. He was a miner for 24 years, working at Pocahontas Coal in Lynco, WV.
"In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son, Gregory Ken Spears (Deceased); a daughter, Cora Spears-Hall (Deceased); brother, Darvin Spears (1927-1998); a sister, Margaret Darlene Spears-Laferty (1926-2006); father-in-law and mother-in-law, McKinley Syck (Deceased) and Myrtle Syck (Deceased); and a son-in-law Roger Hall (Deceased).

"Evanell Spears, 88, of Princeton, WV passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026 at Ridge Care Assisted Living, Princeton, WV. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Denvil Spears, two children Cora Spears Hall and Gregory Spears. Those left to cherish all the loving memories are Dana (Regina) of NC, Mary Spears and companion Charles Gunnoe of Princeton, Deanna Adkins of Matheny and Denvil Spears, Jr. of NC, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Monday, February 23rd in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Earl Brewer officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks to the very caring staff at the Haven’s of Princeton. She loved each and everyone of you all very much.
