"Harmon Lester, age 84, of Raven Nest Branch, VA passed away Monday, June 7, 2021. He was born October 31, 1936 in Tazewell County, VA and was the son of the late John and Ora Mae Witt Lester. He was a retired Island Creek Coal Company and Jewell Ridge Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA."In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Emory, Graham, Willie, John Earl, Garnett, and Leon Lester; seven sisters, Myrtle Shrader, Ada Griffith, Hazel Wingo, Sadie Patrick, Dorothy Pratt, Edith Arnold, and Essie Lester. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family in his generation.
"Survivors include his children, Joel Lester and wife Connie, and Wilma Perdue and husband Randall; two grandsons, Daniel Lester and wife Katherine and Mackenzie Perdue and fiancée Peyton Stellman; one granddaughter, Christi Musick and husband Ronald; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Lester and Tanner Musick; special friend, Clayton Smith; special nephew, Pat Shrader; many other nieces and nephews also survive.
