Gail Trent, 19, of Sabine, daughter of Leonard Trent and Louise Cox."

"Leonard David Sizemore, age 80, of Rock View, WV, passed from death unto eternal life on January 13, 2026, at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV with his wife and daughters by his side. Leonard was the seventh child, from a total of eleven children, from parents, Fred and Lillie Sizemore. Leonard was born August 27, 1945, in Welch, WV. Leonard met Brenda Trent of Sabine, WV, in 1970. They then fell in love, married, and began their life together on April 3, 1971. Throughout the 22 years that Leonard lived in the Rock View community, he developed a very close relationship with a neighbor, Bob Morgan. He and Bob were more than neighbors, more than friends, they were “family”. Leonard greatly loved him. Leonard was a proud retiree of the coal industry where he labored for 37 years to provide for his family and church. He was known as a highly skilled heavy equipment operator who could operate any piece of equipment. He was often given difficult tasks because of his ability to plan ahead and his strong attention to detail. Brenda was already a born-again Christian when they married, and in 1974 Leonard gave his life to Christ. Together, in 1975, Leonard and Brenda began a ministry in service to God where they worked to not only spread the love and word, but to also help those in need. In 2001, Leonard and Brenda founded New Hope Church on Indian Creek Road, a ministry of service that they had overseen until his illness in the recent months. It was not uncommon to find Leonard delivering food to those in need, or helping someone with a utility bill, or he and Brenda making sure that a family had a good Christmas. Leonard and his brother Thomas were often found making small repairs to people’s homes who could not afford to do so themselves. If someone was in need, and Leonard was aware of it, he would do his best to help them. His devotion to Brenda was surpassed only by his love for his Savior, Jesus Christ. Leonard’s life reflected grace and transformation, a testimony he shared openly. In addition to his parents, Leonard is preceded in death by an infant sister, Sylvia Sizemore, an infant brother, Bobby Sizemore, two older brothers, Kelly Sizemore and James Sizemore, and one older sister Mary Louise Bonnie Cox. In addition to his wife Brenda, Leonard is survived by his two daughters, Tanya Beth (Robbie) Bailey of Pineville, and Kimberli Rae Davis (Jason Gibson) of Beckley. Blessed not only to have two daughters, but God also blessed Leonard and Brenda with 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren with the 3rd great grandchild expected in July. Leonard’s oldest grandson, Brendan David Mullins, resides with his wife, Candice, along with their 2 children, great granddaughter, Poppy Sophia Mullins and great grandson, Bodhi David Mullins, in Virginia Beach, VA. Hailey Michelle Hurd (John Campbell), Leonard’s first granddaughter, lives in Mullens. Kamryn Beth Davis, (Mason Fawks), Leonard’s second granddaughter, lives in Huntington. Robert Donovan Bailey, the youngest grandson, resides with his parents, Robbie and Tanya, in Pineville. Leonard is also survived by his siblings: brother Curtis (Judy) Sizemore, sister Darlene (Norvel) Bolen, brother Thomas (Joann) Sizemore, brother Donald (Connie) Sizemore, and brother Stewart (Debra) Sizemore. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, January 16th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to thank Hospice of Southern West Virginia for the exceptional care and attention that they have given Leonard over the past several weeks. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
