"Truman Pruitt, 77, of Jolo, WV passed peacefully on Saturday, December 27, 2025 surrounded by his family at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV following a long illness. He was born on March 13, 1948 in Jolo, WV a son of the late George Washington Pruitt and the late Liza Jane Pruitt. Truman was a lifelong resident of Bug Hurley Hollow where he was born and raised. He raised his family there as well. He gave his heart to Jesus and was baptized in June 2024. Truman was a storyteller and love to crack jokes and make people laugh. He was a coal miner in his younger years. Hunting was his passion. He loved to raise hound dogs that he could use to hunt coons and squirrels. His most favorite thing to do was to spend time with his family. He loved having their family reunion at his Mom and Dad's old home place. Kids absolutely loved him because he was like a big kid himself. He never met a stranger and his family swears he knows everyone no matter where they'd go. He was definitely a talker and could carry on for hours in conversation with others. His ex-wife Rachel, his son Cleave and his grandson Christopher were his care takers after his sickness made it too hard for him to care for himself. His grandchildren and great grandbabies were his pride and joy. They loved their Popaw and followed him everywhere. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son John Patrick Pruitt, his companion Connie Riffe, his brothers, Thurman Dean Pruitt, Charlie Lum Pruitt, Roosevelt Pruitt, and Ulis Pruitt, a sister Gladys Rowe. His maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents and several uncles and aunts. He is survived by his ex-wife and caretaker Rachel Salyers of the home, his daughter Jenny (Tony) Hill of Weirton, his two sons Cleave Pruitt and companion Ashley Hicks and Jeffrey Earl (Graycie) Pruitt of Jolo, his grandchildren Christopher Salyers and fiancé Rodika Keim, Kristen Salyers and fiancé Austin White, Taylor Baker, Carter Pruitt and Fletcher Pruitt, Lindsey Pruitt, Jasmin Pruitt and Tessia Pruitt, his great grandchildren Sebastian Salyers, Elijah Keim, and Azriel White, Declan Baker, Killian Baker, Daelyn Baker and Koa Ratliff, brothers, Eddie Pruitt, Vester Pruitt, Gilbert Pruitt, Matthew Pruitt, and Estil Pruitt, sisters Dora Vandyke and Barbara Puckett, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
