"David Glen Pierson Sr., 77, Sunhill, WV passed away on Tuesday, November, 25, 2025, at his home. Born August 3, 1948 at Lundale, WV a son of the late Edgar and Mabel Trimble Pierson. David was a retired coal miner, previously employed by Amherst/Arch Coal Company in Logan County. During his younger years, he proudly served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. In life, David spent many of his days hunting, camping, and fishing. He was never so happy as he was in a tree stand or casting a line. Many evenings were spent reminiscing around campfires, while steaks cooked on the grill. To be sure, the Great Outdoors took a backseat in his life only to his adoration of his family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Pierson, and special nephews Paul and Lyndon Pierson. Survivors left to cherish his memory include two children: Kimberly Ayers (Mark) of Beckley, and David Pierson Jr. (Alley) of Oceana his loving wife, Sherri Cline, of Sunhill, as well as many members of her family, former wife and mother of his children, Shelby Pierson, of Milton, four grandchildren: Ashley “Lucy” Acord (Corey) and Kyle “Hammerhead” Ayers (Taylor), of Beckley, Brayden Coffey, of Lynco, and Zachary Pierson, of Christiansburg, Virginia, nephews Fred Pierson (Tammy) of Scott Depot and Edward Pierson (Alice) of Accoville, nieces Drema Baldridge (George) of Accoville and Diana Morris (Red) of Robinette, and a host of family and friends that grew with each person he met. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm. on Monday, December 1st, in the Chapel of Stafford Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. He will be laid to rest in the Legg Cemetery, Hico, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11am until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. The Wyoming County Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Pallbearers will be Johnathan Cline, Fred Pierson, Kyle Ayers, Corey Acord, Brayden Coffey, and Zachary Pierson. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."

She was born on July 17, 1958 in San Bernardino, CA a daughter of the late Donald and Wilma Evelyn Daugherty Courtney. Deborah was of the Christian Faith. In addition to his parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Danny Courtney.
