"Elder Edwin A. Ogburn, Jr., age 74, a resident of Northfork, West Virginia departed this life, on Thursday, November 6, 2025 in Vivian, (McDowell County), West Virginia."Ed was born in Welch, West Virginia on July 26, 1951 and the son of Dorothy (Watkins) and Edwin A. Ogburn, Sr.
"After completing his high school education, he began his work career as a truck driver and auto repairman. He moved to Detroit, Michigan where he was employed as a medical assistant and a community organizer for problem youths. Upon his return to West Virginia, he was employed at the Paul Miller Shelter in Northfork and last employed by Superior Well Services in Kimball, West Virginia, as a truck driver.
"He was licensed as a minister on August 6, 2000 and ordained on February 22, 2004. His ministry included street evangelism in Detroit, Virginia and in West Virginia. He had served for two years as a Minister at Rock Hill Baptist Church in Gary, West Virginia. He began a non-denominational Community Bible Study with Brother Gary Caudell, was an assistant director for the Community of Praise Choir and hosted a television ministry. In 2006, he was appointed as a Field Missionary for the Flat Top Baptist Association. He attended Teen Challenge Bible Study, Seminary of Theology and Flat Top Bible Seminary under Dr. Beals. During Bishop Clarence Moore's lifetime, he attended Bible Study at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church in Bluefield, West Virginia, to gain a broader understanding of the Apostolic Faith. Also, he had served as a driver for Bishop Moore. At the time of his passing, he was attending Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church, under the leadership of Bishop Timothy Schofield. He enjoyed studying the Word of God, talking to others about the Lord and visiting all churches and the sick and shut ins. For a while, he had served as Chaplain of Kimball Lodge No. 13. His favorite pastimes were spent fishing, singing and walking his dog.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Edwin L. Davis and one sister, Linda Ogburn.
"Ed leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Karen B. Ogburn of the home; one son Edwin A. Ogburn, III., of Michigan, two daughters, Kelli Davis of Ohio and Carla Ogburn of Tennessee; several grandchildren and his three siblings: French Ogburn, Joyce (Tommy) Hannon and Doris Bryant all of Michigan; a host of nephews, nieces and his cousins.
"A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion Pentecostal Church 104 Park Street in Bluefield, West Virginia with Pastor, Bhishop Timothy Schofield officiating. Friends may visit at 12:00 noon, until time of Service at the Church. "Mrs. Eva G. Dickerson, affectionately known as "Sunshine," of Welch, West Virginia, departed this life on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in Morgantown, West Virginia, following illness."Eva was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on the 7th day of September, 1954 into the parentage of, Grover A. and Etra Bell (Baker) Nemore. After completing her education at Welch High School, she moved to Detroit, Michigan. While living in Detroit, she was employed by the airlines and dedicated her time and energy to her job. Her employment with the airlines was a testament to her hardworking, adventurous spirit. Even though she was miles away from her family, she carried their love with her.
"Eva's life was defined by warmth and her connections to others. Her greatest pleasures were found in peaceful, personal moments sitting on her porch, while enjoying the outdoors. Her laughter, stories and good conversations with her friends and family was shared by telephone calls and visits. Also, riding with the music flowing through the car stereo and vacationing, whenever possible. She had a keen fondness for both the imaginative and the thrilling; which created her love for "sci-fi" and scary movies.
"Eva was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Clyde Dickerson; several siblings: James Baker, Ray Baker, Robert Nemore, Ethel Saunders, Wasella Baker and Maxine Stanton. Their memories remained as a part of the rich tapestry of her life.
""Sunshine" leaves to cherish her memory; a devoted selection of friends and family; which includes her siblings: Raymond (Iris) of Greensboro, North Carolina, Ralph (Carmen) of Oceanside, California, Reginald (Sabrina) of Pasadena, California, Richard of Kimball, West Virginia, Benny (Ethel), Todd and Sandra (Michael) all of Oceanside. Also, a loving "Auntie/Mommy" to Kortez Baker; she touched the lives of many other relatives and friends who mourn her passing and celebrate her life.
"Eva's life bore witness to the importance of connections to family, to music, to stories shared on porches and phone lines, to imaginative journeys on screen and on the road. To know her was to feel the glow of someone who loved deeply and laughed easily.
"Her spirit continues in the memories she leaves behind; the phone call you're going to make, the porch you're going to sit on just a little longer, the ride you'll take with your favorite song turned up, the chilling thrill of a scary movie on a dark evening. In each of these moments, Eva "Sunshine" Dickerson lives on!
"Eva's Celebration Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Emmanuel Tabernacle Church, 50 Chestnut Street in Kimball, with Pastor Georgia Smith officiating. "Mrs. Lura Ann Clack Jamison, a lifelong resident of Coalwood, West Virginia, peacefully departed this life on Friday, October 10, 2025 in Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, West Virginia."Lura Ann was born in Coalwood on the 20th day of June, 1952, into the very loving parentage of Wilbur Sr., and Amanda (Senior) Clack. She was a graduate of Big Creek High School and a faithful member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church in Coalwood, until its closing. She had served as the Financial Secretary, a Choir member and the Kitchen Committee.
"After becoming a homemaker, she lovingly served her family with her many gifts, skills and talents. She was always willing to help others; especially "the elderly," by transporting them to Doctor's appointments and sharing meals she had prepared. Being the "people person," that she was, meant never meeting a stranger and engaging in pleasant conversations. Also, she was one dynamic shopper.
"Lura Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur Sr., and Amanda; three of her brothers: Alonzo "Sonny" Senior, Wilbur "Bill|," and Robert "Andy" Clack and a niece, Sonya.
Lura Ann will be remembered as a very loving, faithful wife of 48 years to Minister James E. Jamison; a loving mother, "like no other" to her son, Maurice and his wife, Jessica Jamison of High Point, North Carolina; her "joy and sunshine," Jasmynn N. Jamison, her granddaughter; a loyal sister to her devoted siblings: Evangelist Charles "Buckshot" (wife, Nancy, deceased) Senior of Kingsport, Tennessee, Paul Clack of Bluefield, Virginia, Carolyn "Jennie" and her husband, Nelson Ross of Kingsport, Wilma and her husband, Buford Brown of Havaco, West Virginia and Alice and her husband, Desi Scales of Fayetteville, North Carolina; a host of nephews, nieces and her brothers and sisters-in love: Kenneth Jamison , Darrell (Katherine) Jamison, Etta (Ronald) Heard, Donna (Ivan) Adams, Randy (Tynese) Jamison and William (Teresa) Jamison; her special friend, Caroline Padgett and her many other friends and neighbors.
