WV; buried here, picture, grave marker and obit shown."ROCKVIEW-Jimmy D. Acord 81, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2013, in his home after a year long illness. Born July 24, 1931, at Itmann, he was the son of the late Thelma B. Acord-Cook (1912-2004).
"Mr. Acord served his country in the United States Air Force for four years before starting his career as a mine electrician at Eastern Associated Coal Co. at Kopperston then at Maple Meadows Mining at Fairdale. Jimmy was a member of the Guyandotte Missionary Baptist Church in Jesse.
"In addition to his mother he was preceded in death by an infant daughter Kathy Acord (Deceased); two sons, James Keith Acord (1959-1975) and Michael Dean Acord (1963-1975); his grandparents, who raised him James "Leonard" Acord (1888-1957) and Nellie B. Cook-Acord (1912-2004).

"Judy Christine Gray, 80, of Pineville, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2025. Born on December 25, 1944, Judy was a Christmas blessing to her family and to everyone who would one day be touched by her kindness, her music, and her unwavering faith. December 11th would have marked 60 years of a beautiful and Christ-centered marriage with her husband, Rev. Norman Gray. Their love was evident to anyone who knew them, steady, gentle, and rooted deeply in their shared devotion to God and to one another. Together they raised three children who were the pride of her heart, Paul (Amber) Gray, Carson (Tracy) Gray, Christy (Rick) Blankenship. Judy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She delighted in her role as grandmother of 9, and great-grandmother of 17 with one on the way. Of her immediate family, she is survived by her loving sister, Delores Clower Cranfill who resides in Statesville, NC. Judy lived her life in service to the Lord, and the Church was her second home. A natural leader with a humble spirit. She served faithfully as a musician and singer, Sunday school teacher, President of Ladies Ministries and Red Hat Society, offering wisdom, compassion, and a deep love for everyone she connected with. She also served on the WV State Women’s Board for the Churches of God, Cleveland, TN. One of the greatest blessings of Judy’s life was singing with her husband and children. Together as a family group, they ministered through music in their local church, state camp meetings, revivals, nursing homes, and throughout the community. These moments, standing beside her husband and children, their voices blending in harmony, singing songs of hope and heaven, were some of her most cherished memories. Music was not simply a talent for Judy, it was her offering to the Lord and her love language to the world. Those who knew Judy will remember her gentle smile, her contagious personality, her soft-spoken wisdom, her heartfelt prayers, and the way she worshiped with her whole heart. She loved deeply, served faithfully, and lived with a quiet strength that reflected the heart of Jesus. While the family grieves a tremendous loss, they rejoice knowing that Judy is now reunited with countless friends and loved ones who have gone before her, singing once again, only this time in the presence of her Savior. A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025 at the Pineville Church of God, Pineville, WV with Rev. Carson Gray and Rev. P. Randall Bowles officiating with singing from her children and special friends, Rev. Chelsey Noel and Heather Morgan. She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the church. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
