"She was employed by the McDowell County Clerk’s Office for years. She was a 1968 graduate of Hinton High School.

"She has two children, a son John “J.C.” Blaylock and fiancé Janet Booth from Princeton, WV; and daughter Carla Akers from Bluefield, WV.

"In addition to her children, she was preceded in death by one brother, Todd Green from Bluefield, VA and one sister, Donna Beavers from Bartley, WV.

"Theresa also leaves behind four very special grandchildren: Isaiah Rutledge, Jayson Akers, Autumn Aldridge, and Emily Booth. She treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren and loved them more than life itself.

"There will be no visitation or funeral services at this time. A Celebration of her life may be scheduled at a later date.

"Fred Matney, 80, of Harmony, NC, peacefully passed away on October 28, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

"One of 13 children, Fred was born March 29, 1945 in Panther, WV, the son of Kennis Matney and Lou Jane Ashby Matney.

"Fred served in the United States Navy and worked tirelessly as a coal miner to provide for his family.

"Fred married Edith Lambert on September 10, 1966 and they went on to create a beautiful family.

"Fred loved to hunt, fish, garden, and make people laugh, but the joy of his life was becoming a grandfather.

"Remaining to cherish Fred’s memory are his wife of 59 years, Edith, children, Darrin (Michelle), Kristie (Donnell), Angie, Cindy (Allen), and Michael. He will be lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, precious family members and lifelong friends.

"Military Honors will be presented on November 4, 2025 at 2:30pm at Salisbury National Cemetery Annex. A memorial service will be held that evening (November 4, 2025) at 5:00pm at Word of Truth in Jesus Name in Harmony, NC, officiants Pastor Darlene Reed and Minister Lana Lambert.

"In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gordon Hospice House in Statesville, NC.

Ronald Litesel Morgan

"Ronald L. Morgan, 81, of North Spring, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 16, 1944 in Iaeger, WV a son of the late Litesell Shane and Zina Godfrey Morgan. Ronald was Salutatorian of the 1962 Baileysville High School graduating class and was knighted into the Golden Horseshoe in 1958. He served in the United States Army from 1962 until 1965 and helped work on the R.D. Bailey Dam from 1972 to 1975. Ronald accepted the Lord as his savior in 2006 and was a member of the Little Cub Missionary Baptist Church and the UMWA. He loved hunting, fishing, and going to NASCAR races, drag races. He also loved watching WVU ballgames. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and brothers and going to Florida in the winter with his wife, Hazel. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Matthew and Amanda Riffe Morgan, maternal grandparents Elliot Godfrey and Jane Lester Cline and her husband Willard Cline, his sister-in-law Frankie Short Morgan, and his best friends Glen Morgan and Benny Morgan. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Hazel Davis Morgan, three sons Thomas Neil (Edna) Morgan of Lebanon, VA, Toby Lee (Laura) Morgan of Berkley Springs and Jeffrey (Pamela) Cook of El Paso, TX, two brothers Gregory Morgan of Glen Jean and Dennie Morgan of Oceana, grandchildren Matthew Rubeck, Lillian Morgan, Jacob Morgan, Joshua Morgan, Savanna Morgan Cline, Christpher Morgan, Ivy Jade Morgan, Alisha Cook, Kaitlin Cook, Hannah Cook, Haley Rhea, and Kylie Mabe, eleven great grandchildren, a brother-in-law Linus (Brenda) Davis of North Spring, two sisters-in-law Delzie (Kenneth) Peck of Springfield, OH and LaShon (Roy) Davis of Cullman, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
