"Twana Elaine Daugherty, 59, of Mount Hope, West Virginia, passed away on October 3, 2025, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston, WV. Born on January 29, 1966, in Welch, WV, Twana was the cherished daughter of Daniel Daugherty and Minnie Harper Rudisill. Her life was a testament to unwavering faith, boundless love for her family, and a joyful spirit that touched everyone she met. Twana was preceded in death by her husband, Dewayne Lawrence their son, Jeffery Lawrence, her stepfather Kyle Rudisill and her great-niece, Miranda Acord Browning. She was a proud member of The Church of the Nazarene in Beckley. Twana found joy in music, dancing, and the simple pleasures of everyday life. Her laughter was infectious, her heart generous, and her presence a blessing to all who knew her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving parents and her step-mother, Patricia Daugherty her devoted partner of 28 years, Freddy Richmond of Mount Hope her son, Justin Fernatt (Madison) and her beloved grandchildren, William, Tristen, Lila, and Willow Fernatt. Twana also leaves behind her sister, Lavana Meadows (Darrell) of Minden her brother, Tony Daugherty of Portsmouth, Ohio her step-sisters, Rhonda Dunbar (Joey) of Lindside, WV, and Patricia Ward (Wayne) of Hinton, WV nephews, TJ and Nathaniel Daugherty and a niece she held close to her heart and loved as her own, Stephanie Acord (Bobby), along with their children—Kaven, Remington, Gentry, Emma, Bo, and Cruz, her brother-in-law Roger Richmond (Betty) of Ballengee, WV, and sister-in-law Glenna (John) of Arlington, VA. Twana’s love extended far beyond her immediate family, embracing a wide circle of relatives and dear friends who will miss her deeply. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, October 9th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. Friends may gather from 12pm until time of service on Thursday at the funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at GC Toler Cemetery, Sunhill, WV. “There are some who bring a light so great to the world—that even after they have gone, the light remains”. "Johnny Alfred Aliff, II, 65, of Bluefield, WV, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at his home. He was born on March 30, 1960 in Welch, WV a son of the late Johnny A. Aliff and Ernestine Webb Aliff. Johnny grew up in Oceana, WV before moving to Bluefield, WV in the early 1990’s. He was a devoted husband to Rhonda for 23 years, a loving father to his sons Donnie and Trey, and a supportive stepfather to Ashley, Danielle, and Dakota. He also loved being Poppy and Papa John to his grandchildren. He graduated from Oceana High School where he excelled at drums (trait he later passed on to his sons). Johnny began his 40 year long career for the Ammar Company as a stock boy at the Magic Mart in Pineville, WV and later as manager, for the Pineville and Oceana stores. He worked his way up through the company to Vice President of Operations for Ammar Inc. in Bluefield, VA before the company’s closure. He was often quiet and behind the scenes but well known and loved by the communities and employees he served. While he did not attend church regularly, he would watch online services at Lifeline Church in Princeton and prior to his passing he voiced that he absolutely believed in God as his Savior. Some of his favorite past times included road trips, camping, going to thrift shops, Reds baseball and especially the beach. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters Cheryl Tyree and Robin Trainor. Left to cherish his memory include his wife Rhonda Tignor Aliff of Bluefield who never left his side in those final days. Also, two sons Donnie Aliff and Johnny A. “Trey” Aliff, III (Jessica) all of Princeton, three stepchildren Ashley Vanhoozer, Danielle (Melissa) Vanhoozer and Dakota (Tori) Hawks. He will also be remembered by his three remaining siblings Karen (Rick) Boone, Joetta (Dave) Walker, and Rich (Cara) Aliff, his first wife Venessa, and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be remembered as Poppy and Papa John by Jenna, James, and Bentley Aliff, Aaliyah, Azayah, and Amiyah Vanhoozer and Parker Hawks. He will also be remembered by his longtime coworker and close friend, Scott Whitt. A memorial service will be held at a later date, but donations in his memory may be made to Stafford Family Funeral Home. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
