"Jerry Orville Jenks, Jr., 53, of Paynesville, West Virginia, passed away on August 20, 2025."Jerry was born in Welch, WV, July 26, 1972 a son of Jerry Orville Jenks Sr. and the late Vonnie Marie Jenks. Born with a giving spirit and a big heart, Jerry lived a life defined by hard work, selflessness, and love for his family. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a hand, share what he had, or put others’ needs before his own. Those who knew him will remember his generosity, his sense of humor, and his quiet strength that brought comfort to many.
"Jerry also had a remarkable talent for masonry work, creating with his hands in a way that left lasting beauty for others to enjoy. His craftsmanship and dedication were admired by all who saw his work.
"Above all, Jerry’s greatest pride was his family. He leaves behind two daughters, Destiny (Jeremy) Jenks of Mooresville, NC, and Katie (Tommy) Jenks of Salisbury, NC; and three granddaughters, Katherine, Elena, and River, who brought him immense joy and filled his heart with love.
"He is also survived by his father, Jerry Jenks of Hickory, NC; his sister, Teresa (Jason) Eggers of Hickory, NC; and his brother, William (Hope) Jenks of Randleman, NC.
