"Carlos Gene White, 71, of Wharton, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at his home. He was born on June 12,1954 in Bald Knob, WV a son of the late Charlie and Eva Osborne White. Carlos was a member of the UMWA working in the mines for 37 ½ years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson Anthony Ray Goodman, Jr., brothers Mont Carl White and Roger (Eilene) White, his mother and father-in-law Claude and Ruth Imogene Walls, brothers-in-law Shelly Walls, Chester Osborne, Earnest Grimmett and Jack Browning, and sister-in-law Vivian Walls. Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years Deborah Walls White, two daughters Gabrielle Stover and Lagina Stover, three sons Troy Lee Goodman, Michael Goodman and Anthony Ray Goodman, sisters-in-law Dreama Osborne, Stella Browning, Beverly Grimmett and Shelia (Robert) Maxwell, a brother-in-law Eddie (Beverly) Walls, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, August 8th at the Browns Branch Church, Gordon, WV with Rev. Phil Rowe officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hatfield Cemetery, Wharton, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 1 pm until time of service on Friday at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home in Lynco, WV."

"Brandon Edward Matney, 39, of Trace Fork, WV, passed away on July 29, 2025, at his home. He was born on January 13, 1986 in Bluefield, WV a son of Benny Matney and Angie Rasnick. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jerlene Matney and Larry Resnick, an aunt Janine.
