Born July 22, 1934 a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Bowles Hatfield, Sr. He was the last surviving child of 16 siblings. They enjoyed traveling, yard sales, flea markets, and visiting friends and family. Jack was a Marine Corp Veteran acting as Military Police during the Korean war era. He was in the active duty reserves for 7 years. In Jack's later years he owned and operated an auto mechanic & big truck repair garage. His other professions included school bus driver, boat hauler, EMT, Fireman, and dispatcher at Iaeger Police Department. Jack’s favorite job was Chief Operating Officer for the Retired Military Police Association. For years on Sunday mornings, you could find his smiling face at the front door of Christ Cathedral. Jack was the head greeter. He greeted each and every person with a warm hand shake, and a bright smile and the same old joke, “Good Morning” Hi Jack! “Don’t say that on an airplane you’ll get shot” Jack took his role as Papaw very seriously, singing little diddles and arguing with them. Rather they liked it or not they had "Pumpkins Heads” Counting how many times they can jump up and down on couch cushions. The grandchildren would try to sell him on the swap and shop because that “OLD PAPAW" was getting on their nerves. Jack drove a purple truck for years just because the granddaughters loved it. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughters Marlene Hatfield, and Andria Hatfield. Survivors include his beloved wife of 33 years Mary Ruth Enkoff Hatfield, his children Charlene Murphey, Darlene Hayden, Vicey Dotson, Charlotte Thornton, Debbie Frazier, Jack Hatfield Jr., and his faithful daughter Theresa and son in law Clinton Estepp, his grandchildren Emilee Estepp, Brooke (Josh) Williamson, Brittany Payne, and great grandchildren Laurianna, Marcus, Coby, Mason, Layla, Levi, Samuel, Maddilynn, and many others… Honorary Friends: Marty Lawrance, Michael Scarborough, Delbert Kiser, Tim and Judy Warren.
