"Jerry was born January 12, 1957 in Grundy, VA, a son of the late Willie J. and Minnie M. Smith Lockhart. Jerry enjoyed being a coal miner and was currently a resident of The Nova Health and Rehabilitation Center in Weber City, VA. He had made a lot of friends there whom he enjoyed spending time with. Jerry was planning on leaving the rehabilitation center after his legs were healed from poor circulation. He spent time in church there with his brother, Dewey Jackson.
"In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by sisters, Doris M. Jackson and Minnie Carlene Hatfield; a brother, Leslie Junie Jackson; several half brothers and sisters, Billy, Paul, and Earl Lockhart, Goldie, Fronia, Mable and Lucille Lockhart.
"Survivors include one daughter, Melissa J. Lockhart and companion Ronnie Matney; one son, Shawn W.
