"Elizabeth (Liz) P. Wood passed away on March 6, 2025 in Hendersonville, NC. Liz was born in
Warriormine, WV, graduated from Big Creek High School, and began nurse's training at Grace
Hospital in Welch, WV. She married David L. Wood on Jun 21, 1953 and moved to Fort Wayne,
Indiana and then Lynn, Massachusetts before moving to Hendersonville, in 1955 for his work at
General Electric Lighting.
"Liz was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother and had many lifelong friends, She
was known for her cookies and pies, love of a good joke, singing and books, and her appreciation
of life's simple joys.
"She was preceded in death by her husband, David, her sister Lois, and brothers Clarence, Billy,
and Arthur. She is survived by daughters, Kathyn Wood, Cynthia (David) Martin, grandchildren
