"HERNDON – Lonnie Alvin Reed, 69, of Herndon, left this world and walked through the gates of Heaven on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Born March 29, 1955 in Bluefield, he was the son of the late Raymond Reed and Christine Bodenheimer Reed."Mr. Reed was a retired coal miner and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. He loved to make people laugh and was a big jokester. Lonnie cherished every moment he spent with his loving family.
"In addition to his parent, he was preceded in death by two brothers, infant William Reed and younger brother, Larry Reed.
"Survivors include his companion, Teresa Sharp; two sons, Craig Reed and wife Shafali of Princeton and Richard Reed of Oregon; two brothers, Wayne Reed and wife Eloise of Princeton and Dale Reed and wife Robin of Lashmeet; three sisters, Hazel Jewell and husband Tim Ford of Herndon, Carol Lusk and husband Eugene of Princeton and Lula McKinney and husband Ricky of Fairmont; three grandchildren, Preston Reed of Aiken, SC, Sasha Youboty and husband Yousif of Houston, TX and Trent Pendleton of Richmond, VA; and two great grandchildren, Jenesis Youboty and Maya Reed.
