100, DIES AT WHEELERSBURG"Mrs. Mary Mollie Steele, one of Scioto County's oldest residents, died Sunday at Wheelersburg. She was 100.
"Mrs. Steele died at 9:35 a.m. at the home of Mrs. Maggie Hacker on Dogwood Ridge. She had lived there since death of her husband, Monte Steel, five (sic 15(Obit states ) years ago.
"A native of Virginia, Mrs. Steele came to Scioto County nearly 40 years ago. She and her husband lived on Hayport Road near Wheelersburg 34 years.
"Mrs. Steele had been in good health and last June, greeted relatives and friends at a party on her 100th birthday.
"At that time, she said her formula for living was: "Live a clean life."
"Mrs. Steele was born June 9, 1855, in Richmond, Va.
"Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ocia Cannady of Lochgelly, W.Va., and four grandchildren, including Mrs. Mary Hast, 714 John St.; nine great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
"Her parents, husband and two sons preceded her in death.
"Mrs. Steele was a member of Garden City United Baptist Church many years until her age prevented her from attending services.
"Funeral services are to be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Williams officiating. Burial is to be in Wheelersburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6 tonight."

Despondent because of ill health and his failure to get a teacher's pension,
Robert L. Lloyd, 62 year old teacher, arose about 6 o'clock Sunday morning and
went to the kitchen of his home where he fired a bullet from a .25 caliber
automatic pistol into his brain. He died about three hours later in the Priddy
hospital from the wound inflicted. Mr. Lloyd was a well known citizen of the
county and for 37 years taught in the schools of Jackson and other counties of
the state. Four years ago while teaching at War, McDowell County, he suffered a
stroke from which he never fully recovered and was never able to resume teaching
work. Member of the family said that for the past three or four weeks he had
been despondent and on several occasions had threatened to take his life but
each time they had reasoned with him and he had given up the idea. He is
survived by three children, Robert Lloyd Jr., Murriel Jean Lloyd and Mary Gathel
Lloyd, all at home; one brother, John Lloyd, and two sisters, Flo Lloyd and
Georgia Lloyd; all of Ravenswood. Funeral and burial services were held in
