'Andrew Franklin “Punkin” Johnson, Jr., 72, of Trapfork, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, Winston Salem, NC following a long battle with cancer. He was born on June 9, 1951 in Welch, WV a son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth Lockhart Johnson. He was a coal miner and of the Pentecostal faith. Andrew loved to go to church at the House of Gethsemane in Panther, fishing, trading, hunting, flea marketing and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. He enjoyed life. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Michelle Lynn Johnson, a grandson Ameilo Thomas Johnson, a granddaughter Zoey Ann Slone, two brothers David Viars and wife Linda and Ricky Johnson, and a sister Lola Cline and husband Luther. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his loving wife of 45 years, Eloise Steele Johnson, a daughter Patsy Ann Slone and husband Robert of Westfield, NC, a sister Faye Looney and husband Wanus of Panther, three brothers Wayne Johnson and wife Leona of Panther, Anthony Johnson and wife Pixie of Stuart, VA and Jeffrey Johnson and wife Angela of Panther, a sister in law Rhonda Johnson of Panther, five grandchildren Robbie Slone and Joey Slone both of Westfield, NC, Roman Johnson and wife Heather of Roderfield, Rocky Johnson and wife Becca of Ridge Way, VA and Natalie Johnson of Stuart, VA, two great grandsons Bradley Johnson and Luke Johnson both of Roderfield, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes there will not be a service and he will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home."
