"Lendell Jay Steele, 78, of Lynco, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. He was born on March 7, 1947 in Hanover, WV a son of the late Jay and Shirley Fortner Steele. Lendell was a member of Joseph Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Janice Marie Neely Steele, and a son Arnold Junior Williby. Survivors include a daughter Lisa (Dale “PD”) Hazelwood of Princeton, a granddaughter Tara (Chris) Dillon of Jumping Branch, a great grandson Triton Dillon of Jumping Branch, a sister Jackie Gill of KY, two brothers Tommy (Carolyn) Steele of Oceana and Marty Steele of KY, and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated. A graveside service will be held at a later date. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV."
