"Donnie Cooper, 83, of War WV, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Tazewell Hospital in Tazewell VA, born May 7, 1932 in Grundy VA, he was the son of the late John and Jane Adams Cooper. He was a resident of War the greater part of his life and he was a disabled logger. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dora Mullins Cooper, two sons, Jimmy and Leslie Cooper, one sister, May Whitt, and three brothers, Woodrow, Otis, and Noah, and half-brother, Delbert.
"Survivors include, five daughters, Joyce Hill of War WV, Carol Kennedy of Bartley WV, Rosemary Combs of War WV, Sandra Atwell of War WV, and Sherry Cooper of the home. Five sons, Freddy Cooper of Orlando FL, Jerry Cooper whom he made his home with and wife Melissa, his caregiver of War WV, Jeff Cooper of Bartley WV, David Cooper of the home and Timmy Cooper of the home; one half brother, William Willey Maggard and one half-sister Bertha Maggard, eighteen grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
"Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2 P.M. from the Church of God in War WV, with Pastor Wilmer Muncy officiating. Per his request the body has been cremated. Friends may call Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. at the Church of God in War, WV...."
