Born October 15, 1951 at Eccles, WV he was the son of the late Archie Augusta Lambert, Sr. and Minnie Sue Altizer Lambert. Mr. Lambert was a coal miner and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served in the Army during Vietnam Era. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Nancy Harrah, Susie Lambert and Evia Williams. "Lonnie was married to Attie Maybelle "May" Jones. They had two children. They were both killed along with their little son Cecil at a RR crossing in Bramwell WV in Nov. of 1940. As the story goes, they were traveling back from Virginia following funeral of Mae's Dad. This would seem to be so, as her father's time of death coincides. The girlfriend of another uncle was also killed, and sister of Mae, Edith Steele, was injured but not killed. It happened at a blind cut in Bramwell, WV on Route 52. It is said there was no warning whistle from the train. Lonnie's son was given a mere pittance from the RR until he was probably 18. Fortunately the remaining son was raised in a very loving family by his Uncle Kelly, Aunt Edith, and grandmother. It is said baby Cecil was buried in his Mother's arms. One picture submitted is of Lonnie's family at graveside. Sitting in front is sister, Catherine, and behind her in winter coat is Minnie Steele Brooks. Lady upper right is Hattie Steele, and from right would be Kelly Steele then Dolras Steele and Ward Steele. First from left Carson Steele with third from left in family at funeral is Ida Steele Lane. They are all gone now, and may these beautiful souls rest in peace. They were a very honest and hard working family. Edna Turbeville, niece to Lonnie, tells that Lonnie's Mother, Almeda Steele, never recovered from the death of the little family.
