"Gregory Dean Allen, 68 years of age, passed away today, Friday, March 3, 2023, at his residence in Roderfield, West Virginia."Born December 07, 1954, in Iaeger, West Virginia, Gregory was the son of the late Roy Jack “R.J.” and Eleanor Allen of Roderfield. He worked as a truck driver, first for his father’s coal trucking companies located in and around McDowell County, West Virginia, and later driving cross country for national trucking companies. He also assisted his grandparents and parents in operating the former and popular Drive-Inn Grille in Roderfield.
"Also predeceased by his three (3) siblings: Debra Lynn Allen (who died as an infant in the 1950’s), Roy Jack Allen, Jr. (who died as an infant in the 1950’s), and Brian Cecil Allen, formerly of Roderfield, who passed away in February 2007.
"Gregory is survived by his only child, a daughter, Misty Dawn Allen, of New York City, New York. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.
"Services will be held Friday, March 10, 2023, at 12:00 PM at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch, West Virginia, with Pastor Martin West officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Iaeger Memorial Cemetery in Roderfield, West Virginia. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
