"Willard L. Akers, age 79 formerly of Raven, Virginia passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 at a Bland Nursing Home following a lengthy illness."He was born in Coal wood, WV and was the son of the late, Edward P. and Reba Fields Akers. Willard had served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a retired automobile mechanic for the Ford Company garage in Connecticut. He was of the Baptist faith and will truly be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Gladys Gross Akers; sisters, Wilma Jean Beavers, Frances Akers, Shirley Parker; brothers, John Akers, Roy Dean Akers."Those who survive him are:
