"Born January 11, 1960 in Pineville he was the son of Frances Goins Coleman, and the late Raymond (Kenny) Coleman. He was a 1978 graduate of Welch High School, and he worked in and around the coal mines the greatest part of his life. He was a Certified Mining Safety Professional and was an unlimited instructor for mining surface and underground. He was a life member of Post 1 Mine Rescue, a certified instructor, EMT and a certified pilot. He achieved numerous certification for safety in the mining community. He enjoyed fishing, flying and water sports.
"In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Randolph Coleman; paternal grandparents Harvey and Vienna Goins; and a nephew Douglas Coleman.
