at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital due to a long illness. She was born October 10th, 1938 in
Baileysville, WV a daughter of the late William B. Hodges and Beulah Lusk Hodges. Ruth started her
teaching career at the early age of 17 and enjoyed teaching at Baileysville Elementary School for 32 years.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years Clarence W. Cole of Brier Creek, sister Faye
E. Adams of Brier Creek, grandparents Dr. Lee P. Lusk and Bessie Lusk of Balieysville, WV, and Aunt Rada
Marrs of Oceana, WV. She is survived by her children Dr. Larry E. Cole of Gilbert, WV, Leon L. (Debbie) Cole
of Brier Creek, WV, and Donna F. (Dr. Doug) Lester of Oceana, WV; sister Roberta S. Hodges of Brier Creek,
