"SPRINGVILLE - Memorial service for James Douglas Asaro, 60 years, 8 months and six days, was last Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Pell City with Pastor Johnny Stewart officiating.
Mr. Asaro died Nov. 21 at his residence. He had lived in the Friendship community in St. Clair County for the past 16 years. He retired as a construction manager and served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne from 1960 until 1966. He was a member of Family Christian Fellowship Church in Branchville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic Samuel Asaro Sr. and Thelma Mae Davis Asaro and a brother, Dominic Samuel Asaro Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce J. Asaro of Springville; two sons, Christopher E. Asaro and wife Amy of Lincoln and David W. Asaro of Springville; two sisters, Mary Rice and husband Alan and Peggy VanPelt, all of Summerville, S.C.: three brothers, Raymond Asaro and wife Marilyn of Taylor, S.C., Albert Asaro and wife Erma of Summerville, S.C., and William Asaro and wife Jackie of Goose Creek, S.C.; four grandchildren, Joseph W. Asaro, Amanda L. Asaro, Joshua D. Asaro and Bethany S. Asaro and a host of nieces and nephews.

"Born September 18, 1952 in Pineville, he was the son of the late Leonard Trent (1922-1998) and Pearl Lorraine Cline-Trent (Deceased).

"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Dale Trent (1943-1977), Billy Trent (1945-1981), Edward "Ed" Trent (1951-1998), Dewayne “Spunk” Trent (Deceased), Donald Gene Trent (1957-1957), and Raymond Trent (Deceased); and his sisters, Vernie Trent-Lester (1948-Deceased) and Louise Trent-Edwards (Died in 2012).
