"Rema Sue Walls Roach, 65, of Oceana, WV, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday June 24, 2014 in Charleston Area Medical Center, Charleston, WV."She was born September 29, 1948 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late William "Willie" Lee Walls (1908-Deceased) and Wealtha Jane Toler-Walls (1912-Deceased).
"Rema was a member of the Lacoma Baptist Church and a 1966 graduate of Oceana High School. She was a registered nurse having worked at the Oceana Medical Center, OH-9 Home Health and Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital.
"In addition to her parents, Rema was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Samuel "Sam" Walls (1884-Deceased) and Ida Cook-Walls (1884-Deceased); maternal grandparents George Newberne Toler (1861-1941) and Rosa "Rosie" Perry-Toler (1875-Deceased); two brothers Norman Gene Walls (1934-Deceased) and Billy Lee Walls (Deceased); and a sister Hazel Faye Walls-Adkins (1944-Deceased).
"She enjoyed taking care of her pets and spending time with her five grandchildren.
"Those left to cherish Rema's memory include her loving husband of 41 years John Franklin Roach; her two daughters Robin Eileen Roach-Parsons and husband Isaac Parsons of Crab Orchard and Amanda Renee Roach-Lane and husband Timothy Lane of Lewisburg; five grandchildren John Isaac and Jacob Parsons, Gavin, Autumn and Ethan Lane; a brother Donald Paul Walls of Cyclone; three sisters Mary Lou Walls-Phillips and husband Daniel Phillips, Betty Ann Walls-Dean and husband Eugene Dean, and Anita Jo Walls-Brooks and husband Scott Brooks all of Cyclone; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

"Thomas Dewey “Tommy” Adkins, 81, of Cyclone, WV, went to his heavenly home on December 5, 2025 to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was born September 20, 1944 in Mallory, WV, a son of the late Mallie and Bertha Adkins. Tommy was a member of Lacoma Baptist Church, a retired coal miner, and member of the UMWA. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served four years and a 1963 graduate of Man High School. Tommy was an avid gardener, his specialty was corn and he loved to share it with family and friends. Tommy loved porch- sitting and swinging in the yard with those he loved. He especially enjoyed camping trips to Smith Mountain Lake. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Walls Adkins, and all of his siblings: Nona Anderson (Vester) Toler, Patsy (Jack) Stowers, Brenda (Frankie) Secreto, and Kenny (Gail) Adkins, brother and sister in laws Mary Lou Phillips, Rema Roach, Linda (Gene) Walls, Donald P. Walls and Billy (Ann) Walls. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Drema Shamblin-Adkins, his children: Michelle (Tony) Toler, David Adkins, Thomas Adkins (Katherine Nelson), step-son Cody Vinson, grandchildren James (Bethany) Adkins, Andrew Adkins, Sydney (Richard) Monaghan, Savanah Adkins, and Tanner Adkins, great-grandchildren Jayselynn Adkins, Griffin Adkins, Callum Monaghan, brother and sister in-laws Anita (Scott) Brooks, Daniel Phillips, John Roach, Betty Ann (Eugene “Dizzy”) Dean and Kathy Shamblin Hill and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Friday, December 12th at the Lacoma Baptist Church, Cyclone, WV with Rev. Merle Walls and Rev. Morris Meade officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Chapmanville, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am until service time on Friday at the church. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Pallbearers will be James Adkins, Dan Phillips, Tony Toler, Tyler Phillips, Richard Monaghan, Tanner Adkins and Andrew Adkins.
