He was born April 10, 1939, in Premier, West Virginia, He was the beloved son of the late Woodrow and Eva Blevins Deskins."Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and the cornerstone of his family. A lifelong coal miner, he dedicated many years of hard work to Cannelton Coal Company before his retirement. Known for his warm heart and friendly nature, Jack never met a stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his neighbors. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting, fishing, and gardening, hobbies that brought him great joy and peace.
"In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Hagy Deskins, his grandson, Jackie Lynn Deskins Jr., as well as three sisters and four brothers.
"Jack's legacy lives on through his loving family: his children, Jackie Lynn Deskins and wife Carolyn, Sandra Andrigo, and Albert "Abby" Deskins and wife Mary; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a host of other family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
