"Byram Blevins died at his home Saturday night after a long illness. Burial will be in Palm Memorial Gardens at Matheny."Born at White Top, VA., June 3, 1888, he was a son of the late Jackson Blevins (Deceased) and Mary Blevins (Blevins).
"He was a charter member of the Glen Fork Baptist Temple and senior deacon of the church. Blevins was also a member of the United Mine Workers, Local 7604.
"His first wife Lela Day-Blevins (1894-1973), preceded him in death.
"Survivors include his wife, Goldie Blevins; five sons, Everette L. Blevins (1919-1998) and Lester Blevins (1923-2003), both of Glen Fork, Oakley Blevins of Mullens, Cecil Blevins of Northfield, Ohio and David Blevins of Middlesburg, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. Elsie Blevins-Hurley of Glen Fork and Mrs. Edith Blevins-Bartell of Butler, Pa., one brother, Hezekiah W.
