"Mine Mishap Kills Logan Man, Age 25
MAN—A 25-year-old Logan County man
was killed Monday while at work in Chafin
Coal Company's Rich Creek mine near
here.
"Wilburn Terry Hanshaw died in the
emergency room of Man Appalachian Regional
Hospital, officials said.
Company spokesmen said Hanshaw was
in the process of putting rock dusting
equipment on a piece of machinery when
the machine rolled backwards and
crushed him against the roof of the mine.
Surviving are his wife. Donna; son, Terry
at home; parents. Mr. and Mrs. Euell
Hanshaw of Coal Mountain; sisters, Miss
Mary Hanshaw, Miss Deany Hanshaw and
Mrs. Bonnie Collins; all of Coal Mountain,
Mrs. Pauline Toler of Simon; brothers,
Bud Jr., Joe, and John, all of Coal Mountain;
grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Hatfield

"Onnie Joe Hanshaw, 58, of Beckley, WV passed away on Friday March 6, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley,
WV. He was born on June 13, 1961 in Logan, WV a son of the late Eula Bud and Allie Mae Hatfield Hanshaw. In
addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers Terry Lee and Wilburn Hanshaw. Survivors
include three sisters Mary Cecil of Beckley, Vonnie Mae Collins of Sunhill and Deannia Ann (Earl) Reed of Glover;
two brothers John (Gloria) Hanshaw of Skin Fork and Bud Hanshaw, Jr. of Brenton; niece and caretaker and who
he made his home with Rosinna Toler; two nieces Allie Mae (Tommy) Blankenship and Frauline Michell (Bryan)
Wolfe; and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Friday March 13th in
the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Roy Lee Blankenship officiating. He will be
laid to rest in Hatfield Cemetery, Coal Mountain, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time
of services on Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by

"Robert Lee Martin, 77, of Oceana, went home to be with the Lord on August 9, 2025. Born on October 23, 1947, Robert was the son of the late Kenneth and Gladys Martin. Robert was a proud Veteran of the United States Army where he served during the Vietnam War. He was a lifelong member of the Oceana First Church of God. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed working on old cars and spending time with his grandchildren."In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one brother, Calvin Martin, one sister, Virginia Martin, and two great grandchildren, Conner Toler and Jackson Toler.
"Left to cherish his memory is his loving and faithful wife of fifty-eight years, Ann Martin. One son, Jeff Martin and his wife Kim. One daughter, Robin Toler and her husband Randy. Three brothers: James Martin, Ralph Martin, and Jackie Martin. Five grandchildren: Aaron Toler (Kassi), Derek Martin (Mallory), Jeremy Toler (Kashawna), Kristy Preece (Evan) and baby Swade, and Donovan Toler (Haleigh).
