"PIPESTEM — Rev. Maynard J. Sisk, 77, of Pipestem, W.Va., was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the Princeton Community Hospital."Born in Hiawatha, W.Va. on March 30, 1935, he was a son of the late Charlie Thomas Sisk and Nora Beedie Shrewsbury Sisk.
"Maynard was a sheet metal worker and teacher at the McDowell County Vocational Technical Center in Welch.
"Maynard was a humble man and earlier in his life Rev. Sisk was an ordained Bishop in the Church of God for over 50 years. He pastored several churches during his ministerial career having last pastored for the Peterstown Church of God.
"Rev. Sisk was a member of the Athens Church of God for the past couple of years he and his wife Marie attended the Landmark (Pentecostal) Bible Church (Log Church) at Speedway.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ronnie Gail Sisk; one son, Regionald Sisk; one granddaughter, Melissa High and one grandson, Dakota Sisk. He was also preceded in death by his twin sister, Mavis Geneva Farmer, two other sisters, Ella Mae Parks, Velda Wiley and five brothers. Cebert Sisk, Gathen Sisk, Jimmie Sisk, Elmer Jerry Sisk and Claude Everett Sisk Jr.
"Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of seven years, Marie Brownfield Sisk of the home; one son, Daniel Sisk and wife Regina of Botham, Texas and one daughter, Nora High and husband Danny of Princeton, W.Va.; six stepsons, Danny Akers of Flint, Mich., Rev. Joe Akers of Pipestem, W.Va., Rev. John Akers and Bishop Phil Akers of Tazewell, Va., Paul Akers of Maiden, N.C. and Sgt. Robert Brownfield Jr. of West Union, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Anna Brownfield Workman of Abingdon, Va.; one sister, Dortha Kathelene Gordon of Princeton, W.Va.; three grandchildren, Joshua, Colorado and Cheyenne Sisk; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Gaige Sisk and eighteen step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Sisk at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. Roger Yates and the Rev. Danny Sloan officiating. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum of the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton...."
