"Merlie Riffe Hunt passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at her residence."Merlie was born March 3, 1923 in Steeles, WV, a daughter of the late Jack and Rosella Cline Riffe.
"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hunt; five brothers, Hershel, Dotson, Lewis, Issac, and Norman Riffe; and six sisters, Athlene, Azzie, Mamie, Tanie, Eloshia and Janice. She was the last surviving member of her original family.
"Survivors include one son, Bobby Hunt of Ikes Fork; three daughters, Bonnie Keneda of Maiden, NC; Lavone Morrison of Steeles, and Lena Gay Lambert of Ikes Fork; seven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 24, 2019 at 1 o’clock with Reverend Clyde Endicott and Reverend Robert Hunt officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Riffe Cemetery on Huff Creek near Steeles. Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Cline, Robert Hunt, Chase Cline, Bradley Keneda and Michael Morrison.

"Bradley Gene Mitchell, 31, of Indian Creek, WV, departed this life on Monday, January 24, 2022at his home. He was born February 25, 1990 in North Carolina a son of Larry Gene Mitchell of Indian Creek and the late Jessie Ann Trent Mitchell."In addition to his mom he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bo and Amelia Mitchell and maternal grandfather Jess Trent. Bradley enjoyed four wheeler riding, mudding and fishing with his friends and family. He also liked working on vehicles with his dad and brothers. He loved to make people laugh and was no stranger to hard work. He didn’t have any children, but he had several dogs that he loved and took care of.
