"VIRGINIA BEACH - Joan Frances Brinegar Ambrose, 62, of 216 Overholt Drive, Point O View, Kempsville, died Dec. 19, 2000, in her home. She was a native of Kimball, W.Va., and had been a resident of Norfolk and Virginia Beach most of her life."Joan was the loving wife of Eugene K. Ambrose and was a daughter of the late Milton M. and Ruby Bowman Brinegar. She was a member of Kempsville Church of Christ.
"In addition to her husband, Gene, she is survived by two sons, Robert L. Ambrose and his wife, Lois K. Ambrose of Fort Myers, Fla., and Eugene M. Ambrose of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Deborah A. Evelyn and her husband, Jack A. Evelyn, of Virginia Beach; a brother, Paul Brinegar of Leesburg, Va.; four grandchildren, Timothy L. Ambrose, Jack A. Evelyn Jr., Miles T. Evelyn and Amanda R. Evelyn; and a great-grandson, Connor L. Ambrose, all of Virginia Beach.
"A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today, Dec. 21, in Kellum Funeral Home, Rosewood Chapel, by Minister Randall Childress and the Rev. Richard J. Bruce. The family will receive friends in the residence after the service.
