"Deven Patrick Morgan, 41, of Fredericksburg, VA, formerly of Welch passed away October 28, 2019 in Mary Washington Trauma Hospital from injuries received after being struck by a hit- and -run driver. The accident occurred on October 26, 2019 in Fredericksburg.
"Born January 29, 1978 he was the son of Donald Morgan and Donna Mays Morgan of Welch. He was a graduate of Mount View High School where he was in the Gifted Program and loved all his teachers. He was active in Boy Scouts, a member of the Welch Stingray Swim Team, and played soccer. He attended Bluefield State College and Fairfax College in Winchester, VA. He was employed by Inwood Design Build in Fredericksburg.
"In addition to his parents he is survived by the light of his life, his daughter Abriana (Abby) Morgan of Bloomington, IL; a brother P.J. Morgan and wife Jana of Fredericksburg and their son D.J. Morgan. Additional survivors include a special person in his life, Gary McCoy, and aunts, uncles and cousins.
"Deven was an organ donor, and six people received the gift of life through him.
"He has been cremated and a celebration of his life will be held Friday, November 22 from 6-7 P.M. at the Premier Pentecostal Holiness Church in Premier with Rev. Randall Dority officiating.
