"Born on March 21, 1929 in White Sulphur Springs, WV, he was a son of Wallace Lockhart and Mildred Kathleen Loomis Lockhart. He was a retired coal miner for US Steel #2 Mines with 42 years, retired UMWA member and president of the Black Lung Association of Gary, WV. He was a veteran of the US Army and served in World War II and Korea.
"He was preceded in death by: his devoted wife, Rosie Marie Peak Lockhart; sons, William Larry Lockhart and Willie Lane Lockhart; brothers, Garnett, Leslie, Albert, James, Ronald, Donald and Willie Lockhart; and sisters, Irene Lilly and Mildred Rose; and a son in law, Robert Clemins.
