"Mrs. Emma “Det” Bailey, 68, of 326 Bluefield Ave., Princeton, died Thursday, June 11, 1998, at the Princeton Community Hospital. Born April 3, 1930, at Carswell (McDowell County), she was the daughter of the late Harve C. and Ada J. Horne Gentry.
She was educated in Mercer County and had spent the majority of her life in Princeton. She was a homemaker and a member of the Princeton Salvation Army and a member of the Home League.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Edmund Bailey, two sisters, Annie Rotenberry and Chelsie Self, and two brothers, James Lewis Gentry and Claude “Dot” Gentry. Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Taylor and Linda Munoz both of Princeton; three grandchildren, John Taylor, Kevin Taylor and Marvin Munoz; and one brother, Everette Gentry of Princeton.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, from the Burns Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton with Captain Paul Egan, assisted by Gene “Bo” Calinia, officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of the Wildwood Mausoleum at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Courthouse Road in Princeton. Friends may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Memorial Funeral Directory on Athens Road in Princeton."
