"Pastor Alvin Millard Belcher , 74, of Welch WV, peacefully took his heavenly flight surrounded by his family, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Welch Community Hospital, in Welch, WV.Born, September 4, 1943, he was the son of the late Hiller and Neta Abshire Belcher, He was retired from the McDowell County Board of Education, and was a master welder. God blessed him with a dynamic preaching ministry. He was multi-talented in music and singing. His knowledge of God’s word and music theory was quite extensive.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister Shelia Rinehart.He leaves behind a family who will forever cherish his memory, his wife, Ethel Belcher, son Lanny Belcher and wife Jenene, daughter, Angie Lane and husband Mark, Grandchildren, Anthony and Jarrod Belcher, and Samantha and Matthew Lane, brother Pastor Tom Belcher and wife Linda, sister Cherry Titus and husband Steve.Funeral Services will be conducted, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 1 p.m. from the Little Vine Baptist Church in Welch, WV, with Pastors Lanny and Tom Belcher Officiating, burial will follow at the Elkhorn Church Cemetery on Belcher Mtn, near Welch..."
