"Ray Ferrell, 70, of Mile Branch, formerly of Roderfield, passed away Monday, September 17, 2018 in the McDowell Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV, following a short illness. Ray was born December 30, 1947 in Whitewood, VA, a son of the late Earl and Alice Mullins Ferrell. He was a retired sawmill worker from Georgia Pacific. In addition to his parents Ray was preceded in death by four brother, Raymond, Jay, James and Alex Ferrell and two sisters, Clemmie Rucker and Pearl Blankenship. Survivors include one son, Mickey Ferrell and companion, Laura Frye of Greensboro, NC; two grandchildren, Adam and Shaylan Ferrell both of Greensboro, one sister Gladys Artz of Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; especially his nephew Michal Blankenship and fiancée Lenore Reynolds who took care of him; his ex-wife and friend, Kathy Eanes and her two children, Herbert Eanes and Andrew Eanes. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 24, 2018, at 12 o’clock with Reverend Raymond Rowe officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park at Bluewell. Serving as pallbearers will be Mickey Ferrell, Adam Ferrell, Andrew Eanes, Bob Wimmer and additional family and friends. ..."
