Mrs Baker was born Oct 19, 1919 in Newhall, a daughter of the late James Monroe and Maggie Elizabeth Woods Pruitt. She was a homemaker who loved crafts and sewing. She was also a member of the Atwell Mountain United Church of God."In addition to her parents, her husband, Ora Earnest Baker, a daughter Linda Click, three brothers, William Robert (Bobby), Thural Ray, and Robey Eugene Pruitt and one sister Helen Marie Uhl preceded her in death.
"Survivors include one daughter, Mrs Louise Lyons and Husband Jimmy of Newport News, Va.; four sons, Donald Baker and wife Betty of Pounding Mill, Va., Ernest Baker and wife Mary, Randy Baker and wife Kathy, and Johnny Baker and wife Brenda, all of Raysal; one sister, Dolly Uhl of Peterstown 14 grandchildren, Vonda, Veronica, Linda Mitzie, Shawn, Angel, Glenn, Steve, Nathan, Stephen, Jonah, Karalla, Tony, and Stanley; and 16 great-grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m Wednesday May 18, 2005 at the Atwell Mountain United Church of God on Atwell Mountain with the Reverend Roger Hale and the Reverend Freddie Dobbs officianing. Burial will follow in the Tom Sparks Cemetery on Bradshaw Mountain near Paynesville.
