"Larry Gene Christian, age 71 of North Tazewell, VA died Saturday, January 8, 2022 at his home. He was born September 26, 1950 and was a son of Lucille Scyphers Workman of Pounding Mill, VA and the late Barney Jerry Christian."Larry was a 1970 Graduate of Iaeger High School and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Mr. Christian worked for many years with Honey Well Aerospace as a small engine airplane mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting, boating and camping.
In addition to his father, Larry was preceded in death by the man who raised him as a son, Samuel Workman."In addition to his mother, those who survive to cherish his memory include two sons, both of Mesa, AZ; three sisters, one brother, of Abingdon, VA; many nieces, nephews, other family members and many friends, also survive.
"Funeral Services for Mr. Christian will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Pastor Chris White officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be family members and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January, 15, 2022. He was a member of Bluewell United Methodist Church and had previously worked in custodial maintenance. He had been a resident of Princeton for 35 years.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ensley and Burnie Wyatt.
