"Arlene Roberts Leary Arlene Roberts Leary, 66, of Panther, WV, Died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, in Carolina East Medical Center in New Bern, NC, following a short illness. Arlene was born November 15, 1945, in Panther, WV, a daughter of the late Daniel and Mabel Roberts. She graduated from Iaeger High School in 1964. She worked as a procurement officer on a U.S. Naval base in Norfolk, VA; she had an Associated Degree in Accounting and ran her own computer store in N.C. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a nephew, Dewayne Dotson. Survivors include her husband of twenty five years, James Leary of Newport, NC; one step son, Timothy Shea Leary of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters, Marlene Dotson of Iaeger, WV, and Theodosia Justice and husband James of Schaumburg, IL; one brother, Warren Roberts and wife Jean of Iaeger, WV; two nephews, Ricky Dotson and Twana, and Tony Roberts and wife Sherri all of Iaeger, WV; one great niece, Brittany Roberts of Iaeger, WV; three great nephews, Dewayne Dotson of Raysal, WV, Aaron Roberts of Iaeger, WV, and Randon Dotson and Shelby Midcliff of Abingdon, VA; a special friend, Bobbi Addair of Coalwood, WV, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and in laws to mourn her loss. "Lewis graduated from Cooper Union Institute, June 4, 1936, B.S., Civil Engineering. He won the Physics prize 3 years in a row. Working nights and attending classes during the day, he completed the 5-year course in 4 years, graduating with honors; of about 100 who began the course the first year, only 16 graduated. He worked for Semet-Solvey, a division of Allied Chemicals who sent him to Kingston WV. He moved to Welch in 1940 and later started his own civil, mining, construction and consulting engineering business there and served as City and County Engineer, McDowell County, a position he held until his death. Lewis was a well-respected businessman known throughout the State of West Virginia and into Virginia, Tennessee and Kentucky. He was licensed in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky. There are many bridges in the area that he built on which his name is engraved. He was a member of the Lions Club. "

"Born May 10, 1941 in Eckman he was the son of the late Edward McLaughlin and Doshie Herndon McLaughlin. He was a former foreman in a furniture factory.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Vernon and Clifford McLaughlin; and three sisters, Clydie Atwell, Frances Wishnevsky, and Ethel Estep.
"Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Anna Blankenship McLaughlin of Collinsville, VA; a son, Ernie McLaughlin of Bassett, VA.; two daughters, Pamela Hunley of Bassett, VA. and Shannon Nopala of Collinsville, VA.; a sister, Betty Payne of War; and two grandchildren Deanna Nopala and Marco Nopala.
