"Lena Coleman-Dotson, 87, of Mohawk, died peacefully early Saturday morning. May 28, 2005 in Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, TN, following a short illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Freewill Baptist Church at Greenbrier. Also, she was a great-great-grandmother of five generations and the last surviving member of her original family."Mrs. Coleman was born on April 24, 1918 at Mohawk, a daughter of the late Hiram Coleman (Deceased) and Lila Mounts-Coleman (Deceased). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tomie Dotson (1915-1984); several brothers and sisters; three granddaughters; and one great-great-grand-daughter.
"Survivors include two daughters, Grace Marie Dotson-Stump-Ashby (1935-2015) of Princeton and Carol Dotson-Bailey & husband Roy Bailey of Panther; two sons, Jimmy Dotson & wife Drema Dotson, and Edgar Dotson (1946-2020) & wife Catherine Dotson, all of Bull Creek; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
"Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2005. The Reverend Larry Rife, the Reverend William Prater, and the Reverend Derick Weatherly will officiate at the home of Mrs. Dotson on the right hand fork of Bull Creek.

"Johnnie Peveler, age 86, of Pulaski, VA, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Pulaski VA. Born January 7th, 1931 in Bartley, WV, she was the eldest child of the late John and Mae Christian. She enjoyed family reunions, quilting, canning, hunting, skeet shooting and dancing. After raising her family, she fulfilled her life's dream of going to college and graduated in 1973 as a registered nurse.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands: Archie Marshall and Ebb Peveler, son: Marcus Marshall, grand-children: Marky Marshall, Jonathan (Mikey) and Etiola Cortellesi, Sisters: Peggy Green, Bonnie Christian, Brothers: Jay and Donald Christian.
