She was also a pianist for many churches and taught several students the "love of music."Virginia is survived by her son, Gene (Brenda) Graves of Lima; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; brother, Gene (Rose) Hubbard of Pulaski, Virginia; sisters, Betty Finn of Staunton, Virginia and Peggy (Horace) Brown of Hillsville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Terry Graves of Lexington, KY; and former daughter-in-law, Lisa Graves of McArthur.

Gene was born on January 23, 1936, and was the son of the late Bertha Jenkins Hubbard and Albert Henry Hubbard."He was a retired Mechanical Contractor having last worked for Harris Mechanical, and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the 82nd and 101st Airborne.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Saunders: brothers; Ted, Junior, Jack and Bill: a sister, Virginia Graves, and a grandson; Andy Ridpath.
"He is survived by his loving wife, Rosalee Edwards Hubbard: son; Kelly Gene Hubbard and his wife Sandy: three daughters; Becky Gray, Kathy Ridpath and her husband Frankie, and Terri Hubbard Shelburne and her husband Ron: sisters; Betty Finn, and Peggy Brown and her husband Horace. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; April Ridpath, Eric Gray, Dagan Hubbard, Chris Hubbard, Dylan Meadows, Karly Hubbard, Jake Shelburne, Jessica Shelburne and Jenna Shelburne, and one great grandchild Andrew Shelburne, along with his trusted 13 year old dog Cody.

"Walker, Elva Clifton, 79, died Sunday in a Man hospital after a long illness. Born Nov.4, 1896, at Oceana, he was a son of the late Oley and Mary Elizabeth Walker. He was a retired coal miner with 40 years service with Amherst Coal Co. at the Lundale mine. Survivors include his wife, Lena Bailey Walker; three sons, Ernest of Davin, Elva of Franklin, Ohio, and Jimmy, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Lois Castel of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Phyllis Cornelius of Miami, Fla., Mrs Betty Hill of Cyclone and Mrs. Mary Etta DiGregorio of Germany; one brother, Roy Walker of Cleveland, Ohio; two sisters. Mrs. Etta Walker and Mrs. Hattie Perry, both of Oceana, and 16 grandchildren. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Matneytown.

January 11, 2004"MALLORY, W.Va. — Lena Walker, 94, of Mallory, died Sunday, January 11, 2004, at Logan Center Nursing Home.
"She was born November 22, 1909, in Mercer County, a daughter of the late Joe Floyd and Loney Dale Shrewsberry Bailey.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elva Walker; two grandsons, James Allen Hill and Craig Hill, and several brothers and sisters.
"Mrs. Walker was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
"Survivors include three sons, Ernest C. (Rose Ann) Walker of Davin, Jimmy (Armilda) Walker of Mallory and Elva H. (Sandy) Walker of Franklin, Ohio; four daughters, Lois Castle of Russells Point, Ohio, Betty Jo Hill of Cyclone, Phyllis J. (Bob) Cornelius of Gainesville, Fla., and Marietta (Tony) DiGregorio of Fairfax, Va.; 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
"Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home in Man with Rev. Brent Franco officiating. Burial will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery at Oceana.
"Grandsons and friends will serve as pallbearers.
"Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
